What insurance coverage does VanJet provide?

All VanJet removals include comprehensive goods-in-transit insurance. Your belongings are covered for loss or damage up to their declared value, with a standard limit of £5,000 per item. For high-value items (antiques, artwork, pianos), we recommend additional declared value coverage at no extra cost.

How much does insurance cost?

Goods-in-transit insurance is included in your VanJet quote at no extra charge. For additional declared value coverage on items over £5,000, there's a small premium (typically 1-2% of total value). You can also arrange your own insurance if preferred.

What items are covered by VanJet insurance?

All household items, furniture, appliances, and goods are covered. This includes sofas, beds, pianos, safes, artwork, and decorative items. Insurance excludes items declared as fragile if they arrive broken (unless you purchase fragile goods protection), items of extraordinary value not pre-declared, and items damaged due to improper packing by customers.

What happens if an item arrives damaged?

Immediately take photos and video of the damage with our driver or crew present. Report the damage within 24 hours with photos and your booking reference. We'll assess the damage, obtain repair quotes if necessary, and process your insurance claim. Most claims are settled within 5-7 business days.

Are professional movers trained in safe handling?

Yes, all VanJet drivers and crew complete certified moving and handling training. They're certified in safe lifting techniques (H&S), proper securing of loads, vehicle operation, and customer service. We regularly refresh training and maintain safety certifications.

How do you prevent damage to my home?

We use protective entrance protection (cardboard edges), corner guards, and floor protectors. Our team assesses access routes, uses dolly wheels on wooden floors, and navigates staircases with expert techniques. We remove doors and adjust banisters only if absolutely necessary and with your permission.

What about lifting and handling safety?

Our movers are trained in correct lifting techniques and work in teams to avoid injury and damage. Heavy items are never lifted alone. We use equipment like dollies, sliders, and furniture pads to move items safely without putting strain on backs or the items themselves.
